Tasmanian Festival of Bridge 2026

Tasmania's premier bridge event the 2026 Tasmanian Festival of Bridge ran from Thursday 19th to Sunday 22nd March 2026 at MyState Bank Arena, Glenorchy. This was a record year for the Festival, with 216 tables in play for the first two days, and record fields in most of the events. The ABF also ran stage one of the Australian Mixed Playoff on the weekend sharing the fantastic MyState Bank Arena venue, with stage 2 of the Mixed and the Seniors' Playoffs being held at the TBA clubrooms from Monday to Wednesday.

TBIB Australian Swiss Pairs

A record field of 142 pairs played in the TBIB Australian Swiss Pairs.

Arthur Robbins and Douglas Newlands won, holding first position for the last 6 matches of the event. Ron Klinger and Matt Mullamphy came second. Andrzej Krolikowski and Robert Gallus came third. Hilton Francis and Julie Rhodes won the Warren Walker Memorial Prize for the highest placed Tasmanian pair, presented by Sue Thompson-Walker.

Fixed Income Solutions Australian Mixed Swiss Pairs

The Fixed Income Solutions Australian Mixed Swiss Pairs was won by Pele Rankin and David Beauchamp. Maurits Van Der Vlugt and Dagmar Neumann came second. Trevor and Leone Fuller came third. The highest placed Tasmanian pair were Barbara Holland and Chris Girvan.

Roger Penny Senior Swiss Pairs

The Roger Penny Senior Swiss Pairs was won by Kitty Muntz and Kim Frazer. George Bilski and Martin Bloom came second. Yolana Floris and Toni Bardon came third. Bal Krishan and Richard Cooke were the highest place Tasmanian Pair.

TFoB Restricted Swiss Pairs

The TFoB Restricted Swiss Pairs was won by Rebecca Dorman and Rebecca Mackiggan. Ann Bennett and Elizabeth Gillies came second. Bronwyn Fuller and Marg Enright came third and also won the Ron Spencer Memorial Prize for the highest placed Tasmanian pair.

Jenny Penny Novice Swiss Pairs

34 pairs played in the one day Jenny Penny Novice Swiss Pairs (for players with fewer than 100 MPs). The winners were Helen Hebblethwaite and Debbie Maree Martyn. Nat and Jo Wright came second, and Neil McMaster and Jennifer Bissett came third.

TFoB Rookie Swiss Pairs

The TFoB Rookie Swiss Pairs (for players with fewer than 50 MPs) was won by Jack Pashev and Lee McCaghern. Gina McKenzie and Megan Anstie came second. Wendy Gilson and Fran Healy came third.
