The 2022 Tasmanian Open Teams Qualifying was held at the TBA on the weekend of 4-5th

June 2022. Orginally scheduled as the Tasmanian Swiss Teams, the event was reformatted due

to the number of entrants to be a round robin competition. Seven teams entered and played

six matches of 16 boards across three sessions.

The winners were the Richman team (Sandra and Andrew Richman, Hilton Francis and John

Bailey). In second place were the Grosvenor team (Hugh Grosvenor, Julie Rhodes, Mardi and

John Grosvenor) and third went to the Cummings team (John Cummings, David Marshall,

Fiona Hickey, Alaine Macmorran). Detailed results can be found here.

The two top placed teams (Richman and Grosvenor) will compete in the Tasmanian Open

Teams finals on RealBridge on Saturday 25 June 2022.

The event also encompassed a handicap competition and the inter-club Challenge Cup. The

winners on handicap were the Cummings team, followed by the Grosvenor team and the Wivell

team (Felicity Wivell, Roger Swain, Catherine and David Wyllie).

The Challenge Cup is between teams where all team members are from the same club. While

there were players from the TBA, Kingborough Bridge Club, Eastern Shore Bridge Club,

Devonport Bridge Club and Tamar Bridge Club, only the TBA and Tamar Bridge Club fielded full

teams. The Challenge Cup was won for the TBA by the Grosvenor team.
