The 2026 Tasmanian Festival of Bridge has started. The Festival runs from Thursday 19th to Sunday 22nd March 2026 at MyState Bank Arena, Glenorchy.
For the first two days 216 tables played across the Fixed Income Solutions Australian Mixed Swiss Pairs, the Roger Penny Senior Swiss Pairs and the TFoB Restricted Swiss Pairs.
The Fixed Income Solutions Australian Mixed Swiss Pairs was won by Pele Rankin and David Beauchamp. Maurits Van Der Vlugt and Dagmar Neumann came second. Trevor and Leone Fuller came third. The highest placed Tasmanian pair were Barbara Holland and Chris Girvan.
The Roger Penny Senior Swiss Pairs was won by Kitty Muntz and Kim Frazer. George Bilski and Martin Bloom came second. Yolana Floris and Toni Bardo came third. Bal Krishan and Richard Cooke were the highest place Tasmanian Pair.
The TFoB Restricted Swiss Pairs was won by Rebecca Dorman and Rebecca Mackiggan. Ann Bennett and Elizabeth Gillies came second. Bronwyn Fuller and Marg Enright came third and also won the Ron Spencer Memorial Prize for the highest placed Tasmanian pair.
Saturday sees 142 pairs playing the first day of the TBIB Australian Swiss Pairs and 34 pairs playing in the Jenny Penny Novice Swiss Pairs (for players with fewer than 100 MPs). The day ends with dinner at the venue for thiose who have booked.
